Many of us, use noname Chinese GPS receivers, just like me. Unfortunately, the battery of mine was gone. It was undesirable for me, because I often use my GPS navigation while walking.
This is what you should do to replace the battery.
What we need:
- soldering station
- screw-driver
- multimeter
- new battery
First, very carefully open the device and take a good look at inside.
Disconnect the battery and look its specification.
You can buy and replace the battery with the same, but in my case it was hard to understand what was written on the battery. I only now, I need 3.7V power source with the same size. I have choosen Nokia BL-5C Li-Ion BATTERY just for $2 from ebay.
Reconnect (sold) the wires with new BL-5C very carefully.
Bring battery back into device and close it.
Check the result (100% working)
The BL-5C has bigger capacity than older. If you want to modify your GPS you can connect parallel few batteries or use one huge 2000-3000mAh for better live time.
